Shared Services

Business Systems Support

The Shared Services Business Systems and Support Team is responsible for application-level business and systems support to Shared Services operational and administrative areas and to client agencies. Services are delivered by six work streams that cross Finance, Human Resources and Information Management including:

Reporting

Developing and maintaining a standard suite of reports for client agencies and internal Shared Services operations. A consultancy service is also provided for ad-hoc report requests, which are evaluated and developed in consultation with clients to meet their business requirements. This involves the analysis of requirements, and the design, test, and deployment of reports.

Business Analysis and Systems Administration

Supporting the users of business systems by maintain the ongoing configuration of the systems. Maintain awareness of developments and trends in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and initiate changes and continuous improvement to business processes. Involves the review and re-engineering of business processes and workflows to support the operational efficiency of Shared Services and client agency services.

Testing

Co-ordinating testing for all new and modified states of business systems, utilising methodologies and procedural practices designed to minimise the risks associated with these changes.

Systems Security

Managing security of business applications, including the data inputs, people activities and roles, as well as providing input to security of the environments and infrastructure provided by Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services.

Training Application Users

Providing a comprehensive suite of user training for staff working at Shared Services and also a train the trainer service for agencies to assist train their staff using the services of Shared Services systems, such as Employee Self Service (ESS) and Management Self Service (MSS).

Information Management

Providing a full Electronic Document Management Service (EDMS) to support the provision of Shared Services services to clients. Also manages the development of strategies and plans for the effective treatment and dissemination of information and knowledge.
