Functional Review Reform Programs
At the conclusion of its Review into the Effective Delivery of Government Priorities in 2002, the Functional Review Taskforce delivered a report to Government containing some 89 recommendations. The recommendations covered a wide range of proposed reforms to the Western Australian public sector and identified a number of areas of expenditure where a Whole of Government approach could produce a more cost effective outcome.
Four key areas of particular focus for which separate projects were established are -
Shared Corporate Services
Introducing a shared services approach to the delivery of Corporate Services to all Government agencies.
Procurement
Achieving cost savings and process reform with Whole of Government Procurement practices.
E-Government
Establishing an Office of E-Government to help capture and better coordinate public sector online opportunities.
Capital Investment and Asset Management
Improving Whole of Government Capital Investment planning and Asset Management decision making practices
